Exodus 22:29-30: Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe
fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give
unto me. Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep:
seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give
it me.
Leviticus 22:26-30: And the LORD spake unto Moses,
saying, When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it
shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and
thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the
LORD. And whether it be cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young
both in one day. And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto
the LORD, offer it at your own will. On the same day it shall be eaten
up; ye shall leave none of it until the morrow: I am the LORD.
Deuteronomy 15:19-23: All the firstling males that
come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the LORD thy
God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear
the firstling of thy sheep. Thou shalt eat it before the LORD thy God
year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, thou and thy
household. And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or
blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the
LORD thy God. Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the
clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart. Only
thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground
as water.
