| Not Done Yet! |
|
This will be an on-going project. Come back and watch it grow as I learn and discover more - I am finding great
joy in this journey. |

| Sacred, Popular, and
'Wiggle' Songs |
|
Because most of these these volumes were compiled for children and
youth, there are seasonal & recreational songs as well as
'activity' songs (what we call 'wiggle songs'.) I was
not going to index the wiggle songs, but those with whom I conferred
exclaimed most forcefully that wiggle songs are as much a part of our musical heritage
as sacred songs. My target audience has spoken - I am including all songs titles in this index - sacred,
seasonal, lullabies, nursery rhymes, and wiggle songs. |

| Titles/First Line |
|
As a hymnist the proper way to title and list a hymn is
by the first line of the text. But titles of these children's hymns were
engrained into us as children and we just aren't going to give them up, so
I am going to break the rules and list first by title and then by first
line where needed. |

|
| Authors
|
|
Different hymnals will have different authors credited
for the same text, but because research is on-going I will list them
according to the most-recent volume - or the most-recent research. |

|
| Links to Texts |
|
Texts that are more complete or original than what is
in LDS hymnals are linked so you can read the complete/original texts. |
| |
|
|
| "The" |
|
Titles and first lines that begin with the word 'The',
'A', and 'An' as well as other prepositions are alphabetized under said
prepositions, which is the way of doing things since the computer started
alphabetizing for us. |
| |
|
|
| Contractions
|
|
In some hymnals "There's" has been changed to "There
is"; the same with other contractions. If you don't find a title one way,
look for it the other way. |

|
| Page Number vs. Hymn
Number |
|
Most LDS hymnals lists hymns by hymn number. But
several of these books list them by page number - those that do are noted
with a "pg". |
